Solo travel in Portugal

Portugal is Europe's #1 solo & digital nomad destination — and it deserves the hype

Lisbon and Porto are pedestrian-friendly, welcoming and cheap. Ericeira and Lagos are surf towns full of solo backpackers. Petty theft on tram 28 is the only real concern — everything else is unusually calm for Europe.

Baixa street vendors offer 'drugs' that are usually flour. Ignore, they'll move on.

Sintra: last train back is early

The last train to Lisbon leaves around 22:00. Book an Uber back or stay overnight.
