Bansko

Europe's cheapest ski week that still delivers

Bansko is the Alps hack for tight budgets. Lift pass is under half the French price, a hot meal on the mountain is €10, and the ski school is genuinely good. Terrain is limited (75km) so it's less exciting for advanced skiers, but for a first-week or a cheap party week it's unbeatable.

  • Beer for €2, mountain lunch €10
  • UNESCO Old Town with mehana taverns

Non-negotiable for a ski week

Snowsports travel insurance

Standard travel policies exclude skiing. Add the winter-sports rider or a dedicated policy — a mountain rescue can be €10,000+ out of pocket.

The honest downside

The gondola queue can be 60+ min at 09:00 in peak weeks. Buy the multi-day pass and start at 10:30 to skip it.
