Portugal for digital nomads

Portugal is Europe's #1 digital nomad hub — and Lisbon knows it

Portugal built a dedicated D8 nomad visa in 2022 and the results speak for themselves: Lisbon, Porto and Madeira are packed with coworking spaces, coliving villas and English-speaking cafés. It's still cheaper than Barcelona or Berlin, and the weather is unreasonable good.

Monthly budget
$1,800–2,800 for a solo nomad in Lisbon (Porto is 20–30% cheaper).
Internet
300–1000 Mbps fibre in Lisbon, Porto, Madeira. · Very stable. MEO / NOS cover 99%+ of urban areas.
Timezone
WET/WEST (UTC+0/+1) — perfect for both EU and East Coast US async work.
