Amalfi Coast

The world's most photographed coastline, priced accordingly

Positano's cliff-hugging pastel houses and Ravello's cloud-level gardens are worth the price of admission — once. Come off-peak (May or September), stay in Praiano or Minori for half the price, and eat where fishermen eat.

Why go

  • One of the most scenic drives in Europe (SS163)
  • Boat day-trips to Capri and the Blue Grotto
  • Ravello classical music festival in summer
  • Some of Italy's best seafood + limoncello country

The beaches worth your day

Fornillo, Positano

10-min walk from the main beach — quieter, same view, half the crowds.

Laurito Beach

Reached by shuttle boat from Positano. Restaurant on the sand.

Furore Fjord

Tiny cove under the bridge — dramatic, small, unusual.

How to book smart

Fly Naples (NAP) not Rome, take Kiwitaxi or a private transfer straight to your town — the SITA bus is spectacular but 3+ hours with a suitcase.

The honest downside

July–August traffic on SS163 is legendary. Stay put and boat-hop instead of driving between towns.
